NM Type is an independent type foundry co-founded by Swedish designer Noel Pretorius and Spanish designer María Ramos. Operating from studios in Sweden and Spain, the foundry has been active since at least 2016, marked by the release of its typeface Kinetic. Known for a research-driven and conceptual approach, NM Type creates both retail and custom fonts. Notable releases include Kinetic, inspired by Alexander Calder’s sculptures, and Movement, which draws from the expressive motions of a South African dancer. Additional typefaces like SIXTEN and the in-progress Sastre showcase the foundry’s ongoing commitment to innovation in type design.
