Heheh Type is a Cairo-based Arabic type design collective founded in 2020 by Nour El Shamy, Shahd El Sabbagh, and Manuel von Gebhardi. The studio merges traditional Arabic calligraphy with contemporary typographic approaches to meet modern design needs. Their notable typefaces include Dobb, a playful Naskh style created for illustrated contexts, and Gawhar, a modern interpretation of Arabic script. Heheh Type’s work has been featured in projects like the Shasha Mobile Film Festival, where Dobb was prominently used.
